What each one was built to do.
Synchroteam
Field service management, horizontal and unashamed: send the right technician to the right place at the right time. Its site lists the industries it targets — energy, maintenance, medical, telecoms, security, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping, pool service among others. Metalwork is not among them. Quoting and invoicing exist, at the scale of one job.
MetalSales
A metalwork chain, from the Google query to the final account. Between the quote and the installation sits a workshop: cutting, bills of materials, stock, EN 1090. That is the stage MetalSales models and that a field service tool has no reason to carry. Installation comes after, with MetalField.
Row by row.
Every row states which side it favours, including when that is not us — and on scheduling, Synchroteam is ahead. The Synchroteam column repeats what the publisher states on its site.
| Criterion | MetalSales | Synchroteam |
|---|---|---|
| Trades targetedEdge MetalSales | Metalwork, locksmithing, structural steelwork, facades and aluminium joinery. | Fifteen service industries listed on its site: energy, maintenance, medical, telecoms, security, HVAC, plumbing, landscaping and others. Metalwork is not among them. |
| Unit of workEdge MetalSales | The job: one structure quoted, fabricated, installed, invoiced in stages. | The intervention: one work order, one technician, one visit. |
| QuotingEdge MetalSales | Hierarchical quotes, parametric formulas, material ratio recalculated live. | Built-in job quotation and invoicing. |
| Workshop and fabricationEdge MetalSales | Cutting, bills of materials, workshop tracking, EN 1090 traceability. | No fabrication module announced: the product assumes the work happens at the customer’s site. |
| Scheduling and routingEdge Synchroteam | Installation planning per site and per crew. No route optimisation. | Drag-and-drop dispatch on availability, skills and location, with route optimisation. |
| Customer portalEdge Synchroteam | Not announced to date. | Secure portal: customers create and consult jobs, download PDF reports. |
| StockLevel | Material stock, tied to the job and to the estimate. | Parts inventory across depots and vehicles. |
| FieldLevel | MetalField: installable PWA, works offline, GPS clock-in, photo installation sheets. | iOS and Android apps, custom forms, regular and overtime hour tracking. |
| French construction invoicingEdge MetalSales | Factur-X, Chorus Pro, interim payment applications, retention, final account. | Job invoicing, two-way sync with QuickBooks Online. |
| AI on your dataEdge MetalSales | Marius: price suggestions, semantic search and completion, trained on your history alone. | Not announced on the public site. |
| Website and SEOEdge MetalSales | Sold with the tool: site, organic and local SEO, trade content, Google Ads. | Out of scope: Synchroteam publishes software. |
| Hosting and sovereigntyEdge MetalSales | Hosted in France, strict isolation per client company, publicly documented. | Not stated on the public site. |
Take Synchroteam, honestly.
Some readers of this page do a job Synchroteam is right for and MetalSales is wrong for.
- 01Your business is maintenance or breakdown work: many short visits, little or no workshop fabrication. That is exactly the problem Synchroteam solves.
- 02You have ten technicians on the road and your mileage costs more than your office hours. Route optimisation pays for itself; we do not have it.
- 03You want customers tracking their own requests in a portal. Theirs exists, ours does not.
- 04You work outside France, or your accounting lives in QuickBooks. Our payment applications, retention and final accounts would be no use to you.
Take MetalSales if you fabricate before you install.
The split is clean: the round on one side, the workshop on the other. If your margin is set at quoting and lost in the workshop, a field service tool will never see it.
Demand before tooling
We also build the website and the search visibility that bring the job in. Software does not fill an empty order book, and no other vendor sells both halves.
Marius reads your history
The AI is trained on your own past quotes, for you alone. It suggests a price, finds a job you priced three years ago, completes a line. You keep the final say.
The field in the same chain
MetalField is an installable PWA that works with no signal: GPS clock-in, installation sheets, photos. Fitter and back office write to the same database.
Sovereign hosting
Data held in France, strict isolation per client company, every action traceable and reversible. Written on the Security page, not just in answers to tenders.
Questions we get asked.
We do both installation and breakdown work. Which one?
Look at where your margin sits. If breakdown work is a sideline around structures you fabricate, MetalSales covers both and the callouts fit in the schedule. If breakdown work has become the business and the workshop the sideline, a field service tool is the more honest answer for you — and we will say so during the demo rather than after.
Can we keep Synchroteam for the field and MetalSales for the office?
Technically yes, over the API. But two tools mean two databases, and two databases eventually contradict each other: the fitter clocks in on one side, the payment application is computed on the other. MetalField exists precisely to avoid that double entry. We only recommend the two-tool setup when there is a strong reason to keep what you have.
Does MetalSales optimise routes?
No. Planning is organised by site and by crew, not by mileage. For a firm installing what it fabricates, the constraint is workshop availability and delivery date, not the itinerary. If your constraint is the itinerary, the table says it plainly: Synchroteam is ahead.
How long until we are running?
We migrate your data first — customers, items, quotes, history — then the tool runs alongside your existing habits while the team settles into it. No rip-and-replace: nobody switches a workshop overnight without losing a job in the process.
Where this comes from.
The Synchroteam column repeats what the publisher states on its own site, last read in August 2026: the product description, the list of industries served, and the pricing page for functional scope. No prices are compared here: both publishers charge per user, both change their rates, and a stale figure in a table would make every other row suspect. If you spot an error or something that has since changed, write to us: the page gets corrected, not defended.
Compare it on your own sites.
Thirty minutes, no slides. Describe one typical job: what it earns, what it costs the workshop. If your trade looks more like a round than a chain, we will tell you.
